HOUSTON – Republican candidate for Texas Senate, Austen Furse, today announced two significant endorsements. Furse is running in the Special Election to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Kyle Janek.
“I am pleased to announce the endorsement of two stalwarts of the conservative movement in Texas – Steve Hotze and Tim Lambert. These two fine gentlemen have demonstrated their adherence to the conservative principles of the Party and worked tirelessly to promote conservative values. I am humbled by these endorsements,” Furse said.
“These endorsements come at a decisive time in the campaign. They are representative of a drumbeat coming from the grassroots and Party leadership as they close ranks behind my candidacy,” Furse continued.
Steve Hotze is Chairman of the Conservative Republicans of Texas, and a longtime conservative activist.
Tim Lambert is President of Texas Home School Coalition and former Republican National Committeeman from Texas.
“I have known Austen for years. Austen has impressed me by his work as an advocate of fiscal discipline. Austen has stood tall when others shrank. He will be a terrific leader in the Texas Senate,” Hotze said.
“Other would-be candidates have come and gone. The time for testing the waters is past. Austen is the only candidate who is fully engaged in this campaign. Austen Furse is the right candidate at the right time. I am proud to endorse his candidacy and I will work to ensure his victory,” Hotze said.
“I have worked for decades to support leaders who embrace our Party’s conservative principles. I believe Austen is that kind of candidate. I am pleased to endorse his candidacy.” Lambert said.
“I believe these endorsements send a strong signal as I gather with my fellow delegates and alternates at the Republican State Convention in Houston later this week,” Furse concluded.
