HOUSTON – Austen Furse, Republican candidate for Texas Senate District 17, the Special Election being held to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Senator Kyle Janek, today announced another key endorsement.
“I am pleased to announce the endorsement of a dear friend, conservative commentator and author Ann Coulter. She speaks boldly for conservative principles. I am pleased that she found time to depart the national stage and join in our battle for conservative principles in Texas and lend her support to our campaign for the Texas Senate,” Furse said.
Ann Coulter said, “Austen is a rare breed, a principled and conservative man, willing to stand for public office. With the benefit of his counsel, the Texas Senate will be a better place.”
The Furse campaign noted that Ms. Coulter posted an endorsement and link on her website www.AnnCoulter.com yesterday [see posting July 9, 2008 1:25pm].
Furse is campaigning aggressively all across the district, which includes parts of Harris, Ft. Bend, Brazoria, Galveston, Chambers and Jefferson counties. He has received a steady stream of business, industry, grassroots, and Party endorsements.
